Church

We just got back from Crossroads--a church that meets in a movie theater. We found them through a listing of churches on the University's Graduate Christian Fellowship website. After looking at the church website, we decided to give it a try. It was a small church, but the people were very friendly. They had worship for a while then took a 10 minute fellowship break (with bagels and coffee). Then the pastor taught and we were dismissed. No Sunday school, but there are home groups during the week. The church (or should I say, movie theater) was farther away than we'd like, but they were certainly welcoming. The music was okay, but Mark would prefer something a little more polished, since he is a music guy. But, the pastor had a great sense of humor and seems to be on track theologically (as far as you can tell from one sermon, anyway). We decided to keep looking around for now, but we'd be willing to take a second look. Next Sunday, the plan is to drive up to Casa Grande (about 30 minutes north) to visit the church Wayne's son-in-law pastors. Ever since Wayne found out we'd be moving here, he's been telling us to go see Eric and Stephanie in Casa Grande. Seems like next week would be a good time to do that--we can make a day trip out of it and take our time exploring, since school won't have started yet. Anyway, it feels good to have made our first visit. We're praying it won't be long till we find the church we want to be a part of while we're here.
