WDW Animal Kingdom Highlights

I haven't written much about the Animal Kingdom yet, so I thought I'd start my park-specific posts here. It's the newest of the four major theme parks at WDW, and it has a unique atmosphere that I really enjoy.

One of my favorite attractions is the Kilimanjaro Safaris. It's a really well-designed tour, and I got a bit carried away with the pictures. We rode three times; I could have kept riding indefinitely!

hippos!

These guys were chasing each other all through the savanna!

Food is placed strategically to put the animals in prime view.

Another major attraction here is the Expedition Everest roller coaster, which has a yeti theme. We enjoyed this ride more this year than on our last trip.

We also love the Finding Nemo musical stage show, which is a unique combination of live performers with puppets.  (The park's other live show, The Lion King, was closed for relocation/refurbishment).

There's a dinosaur themed area too, and though I don't love the rides there, I do enjoy the theme!

In addition to the regular attractions, there are also several walking trails with animal habitats. This makes it sound like a zoo, but it's so much cooler!

bats!

The theming on this trail was impressive.
