So far, Spring Break is going well. I tried to do my normal stuff over the weekend (chores, reading, etc), but we did have some friends over for lunch, so that was fun. We also watched all three Bourne movies (which Mark recently bought with some of the money he got for his birthday). I've still got a long to-do list, but it has been really nice to sleep in a little and not have the same kind of pressure to get through my list as usual. I've been working from home, which is also great (I'm still in my pj's now). Mark practiced yesterday morning, and he's back at school practicing now. But, he's also had some time to relax and play video games, so that's good.
Yesterday, we drove up to Casa Grande to hear Wayne Barber (our senior pastor from Hoffmantown) speak at the Equip Conference at Grace Church. I had heard from a friend in ABQ that Wayne would be teaching there, so I found out the dates, and because it was spring break, Mark and I were able to swing it. We actually left our place around 4 so we could have dinner in Casa Grande (at Chili's) before the conference started. This is the church where Wayne's son-in-law, Eric, is the pastor (we visited once back in August before school started). So I had let Eric and Stephanie know we planned to come up, but they didn't mention it to Wayne, so he was totally surprised to see us. It was really fun to talk to him and a blessing to hear him preach. He talked about the first few verses in Hebrews, which he's currently teaching through at H-town. We hung around and visited with Wayne and the family for a while afterwards, then stopped at Dairy Queen on the way home. Overall, it was a really pleasant outing. In the car, we got to test out Mark's new gadget that lets us play his I-pod through the radio--we were very impressed with that, too! (It'll be really great on the longer car trips home to ABQ.)
Other than that, I've been trying to finalize my plans for the TESOL convention, which is next week already, and get ready for Mom and Dad (Gnerich) to visit at the end of the week. I'm also working on summer job possibilities (just found out about another one through the writing program at UA) and a big final paper for Dr. Troike's class. So I should probably get back to it!
