There's been a 24-hour stomach flu going around and on Tuesday night, it hit me. I haven't been sick with the stomach flu since mid-school, so I was disappointed to break my long stretch of not throwing up. Tuesday night and Wednesday morning were pretty rough; I ended up staying home from school on Wednesday, which meant canceling my 102 class (I'm sure my students were heartbroken) and missing my Contrastive Rhetoric class (which wasn't good because I was supposed to be leading the discussion of an article we read for this week). I thought maybe I'd get some work done from home, but I just didn't have the energy. So, I got a day off to rest and sit around on the couch. I'm feeling better now, just trying to be really careful about what I eat because I don't want to upset my stomach. I'm also really hoping Mark doesn't get it. (He was gone all day yesterday, so we didn't have much contact, but it's hard not to catch something that's been in your own house...)
I hope to get caught up today, and to keep feeling better. I do have some pictures from Mark's parents' visit, but they are on Mark's computer, and I'm at school now. I'll try to get them posted soon. We had a nice time, though--it was really good to spend the weekend hanging out with family instead of just doing chores and school work. The weather was quite warm, so we didn't do too much besides walk around the university a little, eat, and play cards. The weather this weekend is supposed to be much milder--highs right around 70. So I think you came at the right time of the year, we were just unseasonably warm! But we were really glad to have visitors!
