We've been busy going to concerts now that we're in the last part of the semester, and we've got a few more coming up this week and next. Last night was the Crosstalk concert, which I've been looking forward to since I heard about it at Mark's audition last year. He's in the group, and they've been preparing since the fall. Well, I was not disappointed! In fact, I'd say it was one of the coolest concerts I've been to. I really wished everyone could have been there to see it with me. You can visit http://www.crosstalk.arizona.edu/index.html for more info on the group, although it's got last years group photos and stuff. It was really fun and unique. Mark had a couple of solos that were great, too.
Other than that, I've been plugging away on my school work, trying to finish a paper for Dr. Troike by Tuesday. My teaching advisor DR has also asked me and two others in our group to submit a proposal together for the 4C's (a college composition conference) next spring. If we get accepted, I'll be going to that instead of TESOL. If we don't get accepted, I should know in time to still submit a proposal for the graduate forum at TESOL.
Speaking of conferences, Mark is also starting to make his plans for PASIC in November in Indianapolis. He's also getting ready for his recital next week (right now he's at a dress rehearsal).
So we're staying busy, but we've both been checking some things off our lists. I should find out about the last writing program job possibility this week. If I get it, I'll celebrate; if I don't, I'll keep applying for other opportunities...I'll keep you posted.
