Relaxing Weekend

Well, the title of this post is slightly misleading, because Mark and I both worked really hard this weekend. But after that, we did take some much needed time to relax!

I've been stressing out for pretty much the whole semester about my final project for Contrastive Rhetoric, but on Saturday I finally buckled down and made some real progress. My background reading was all done, I had my plan, and on Saturday, I got through about half of my analysis, taking really detailed notes in the hope that it'll be easy to draft my paper in another week or so. If I can get through the rest of the analysis next weekend, I should be in really good shape.

Mark spent all day Saturday at school getting things ready for his recital on Sunday, which went well. He's been trying to get more experience performing, and he sure has played a lot this semester! So after the recital, I offered to bake him a cake and take him out to dinner to celebrate. He's got a few more big things coming up, but having the recital finished was a relief. We went to Red Robin (with a coupon) and had the best looking chocolate cake with chocolate icing I've made yet! (I always have trouble getting the frosting to look right...). It was yummy. We also watched a movie. I think we really needed some down time.

Now it's Monday again, and we've only got two weeks of classes left, plus finals. This week will be really busy for me because I'll be grading papers, and we have another take-home test for Dr. Troike on Thursday. (But I'm feeling less stressed about this one since the last one went so well). It's truly amazing how quickly this semester has gone by!

I'm still looking for a job, though. I haven't heard about the last one I applied for through the Writing Program, so I assume I didn't get it either. Another job announcement came out last week, so I'm working on that application and a few other ideas. I'm praying a lot about that, and just trusting that God already has something lined up; maybe it's just not what I'm expecting.
